SUPER DTF Breast Cancer Awareness Project

In Memory of Barbara Lynne Krell - SuperDTF's Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

SuperDTF's Commitment to Breast Cancer Awareness

A Personal Mission

Every October, SuperDTF dedicates its efforts to support Breast Cancer Awareness. This initiative is deeply personal for Matthew Parsons, the founder and president of SuperDTF. In 2000, Matthew lost his beloved grandmother, Barbara Krell, to breast cancer. This devastating experience became the catalyst for SuperDTF's annual awareness and fundraising campaign.

Barbara Krell: An Inspiration

Barbara Krell was more than just Matthew's grandmother. She was a beacon of strength, love, and inspiration:

  • A devoted mother
  • A passionate teacher
  • A role model for all who knew her

Her battle with breast cancer left an indelible mark on Matthew's life, fueling his determination to make a difference in the fight against this disease.

The Reality of Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting women worldwide. Its impact extends far beyond the patient:

  • Families endure emotional and financial stress
  • Patients face challenging and often invasive treatments
  • The loss of loved ones leaves lasting trauma

Our Commitment

At SuperDTF, we're dedicated to:

  1. Raising Awareness: Educating our community about breast cancer, its signs, and the importance of early detection.
  2. Funding Research: Contributing to organizations working tirelessly to find a cure.
  3. Supporting Patients: Helping provide resources and support for those undergoing treatment.
  4. Expanding Access: Working towards pro-bono treatment options for patients with limited financial means.

How We Give Back

Throughout October, a portion of all SuperDTF sales is donated towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Our goal is to:

  • Fund innovative research projects
  • Support patient care initiatives
  • Contribute to awareness campaigns

Why Do We Love BCRF

BCRF is the fund that Matthew donates to because of their efforts towards the cure and their efficiency in allocating funds towards actual global efforts to help prevent, spread awareness, and provide education and treatment against this disease. BCRF is matching every donation 2x this year, so if we raise $2500, that is $5000 that goes towards medicine for women and families who are in need!

Join Us in Making a Difference

Your purchase from SuperDTF during October directly contributes to our breast cancer awareness initiative. Together, we can honor the memory of Barbara Krell and countless others affected by this disease.

Let's unite in the fight against breast cancer. Every action, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to a world without this devastating disease.

A Mother's Love and Legacy

Barbara Lynne Krell was a devoted mother, wife, and adventurer. Her life was characterized by her unwavering love for her family and her passion for exploration.

Memories from Her Husband

"Barbara was so very proud of her three sons. She devoted her life to taking care of you and me. Despite her Catholic University degree, once our first son was born, she never considered working. She nursed all three of you for the first year of your lives, changed hundreds and hundreds of your diapers, and fed you your first solid foods when you were old enough."

"She exulted in your achievements, grieved with the hurt of your lost girlfriends, and always, always wanted the best for each of you. You were her pride and joy!"

Adventures in the Grand Canyon

One of Barbara's greatest joys was sharing her love of nature with her children. The backpacking trips to the Grand Canyon were among the highlights of her life. Her final trip to the canyon in the summer of 1999 with all three of her sons was a treasured memory, even as she battled cancer.

A Surprise Reunion

Her husband recalls a touching story: "I plotted with Uncle Brian to enable him to join her on the trip with her hiking club to the Canyon. When she saw him at the airport in Las Vegas, she was shocked! Brian got the picture of her with her mouth gaping at the surprise of seeing him!"

A Grandmother's Legacy

Barbara's love extended beyond her children to her grandchildren. Though her time with them was cut short, her impact was profound.

A Special Message to Matthew from his Grandfather

Matthew,

Since you are the only one of her grandchildren to have actually known her, I thought you might like reading this tribute to Barbara. The balloon you released with a message to her after her funeral was touching and has stayed with me and will forever. It was a beautiful thought, no doubt inspired by your Mom.

Love,
Grandpa

Barbara's life was cut short by cancer, but her legacy of love, adventure, and devotion to her family lives on. She remains deeply missed and forever loved by her husband, three sons, and grandchildren.
